Map view

“Map view” shows on a large map where workers and machines are right now: the last known locations of workers with works in progress and the last locations of machines with telemetry. Managers and dispatchers use the view, for example, to find the nearest free machine or to check whether work is being done in the right place.

Page layout

At the top of the page are the Realtime info view buttons “List”, “Grid”, “Dashboard”, “Telemetry” and “Map view”. The “Workers and machines on map” block contains:

  • Map layer buttons above the map: “Show workobject layer” / “Hide workobject layer” and, in an agricultural company, also “Show field map layer” / “Hide field map layer”.
  • Map. Workers are shown on the map with a person icon and their name, machines with a machine icon. Machine names appear when you zoom in far enough. When opened, the map zooms so that all workers and machines are visible. When you hold the mouse over a marker, the worker’s or machine’s name appears in the bottom left corner of the map.
  • “Workers (ongoing work, last known position)” – below the map, each worker’s name and the work name in brackets.
  • “Machines (last known position)” – below the map, each machine’s name and, after the @ sign, the integration partner the location comes from.
  • The “Back” button opens the “List” view.

A worker’s location is the last location point of their work in progress from the mobile app or, if there is none, the place where the work started. A machine’s location comes from the telemetry integration partner. Locations are loaded when the view opens; to see newer locations, open the view again.

How to find a worker or machine on the map

  1. Click the worker’s or machine’s name in the list below the map.
  2. The map moves to that worker or machine and an info window opens.
  3. The worker’s info window shows the name, work name and the time of the location.
  4. The machine’s info window shows the machine name, integration partner and the time of the location. If someone is working with the machine right now, it also shows the worker, the work name and the work start. A machine with telemetry also shows its latest readings, for example “Engine hours” or “Fuel level (liters)”.

Clicking a marker on the map opens the same info window.

How to use map layers

  1. Press “Show workobject layer”. Workobjects appear on the map as black areas, lines or markers. Clicking an object shows its category, name and company.
  2. In an agricultural company, press “Show field map layer”. Fields are shown on the map in the colour of their crop. When you hold the mouse over a field, you see the field’s number, name, size, crop and ARIB applicant; clicking a field opens its details in an info window.
  3. To hide a layer, press “Hide workobject layer” or “Hide field map layer”.

What the map does not show

  • Machines whose last location is more than two days old.
  • Machines that do not have “Show in map” ticked in their details (see Machines and equipment).
  • If you have selected a division/department, only the workers and machines of that division (and those without a division).
  • Workers who have no work in progress.

The search field does not filter this view.

Who can see it

Realtime info opens for the roles “Administrator”, “Approver” and “Observer”. “Administrator” and “Observer” see the locations of all workers. “Approver” sees their own location and the locations of their subordinates and of the workers they approve. Everyone sees machines in the same way.

Tips

  • The map together with the list of works in progress is in the Dashboard view; there, clicking a worker’s marker also highlights their work.
  • Machine locations require a telemetry integration, see Integrations. The machines’ latest readings are in the Telemetry view.
  • If a worker’s phone is out of coverage, their location may be old.
