Material usage

“Material usage” shows how much material was used on works in the selected period: which material, how much and from which storage, and on which work, worker, machine, workobject, cost center and customer. Managers, agronomists and accountants use the report to check material consumption and allocate it to cost centers.

Material usage report with the Record and Incl. not approved dimensions

Page layout

  • “Dimensions”: the options that the report rows are built by. “Record” (selected by default) gives a separate row for each material of each work. If “Record” is not selected, the amounts are added up by the selected dimensions: “By date”, “Worker”, “Worktype”, “Material consumption”, “Machine”, “Implement”, “Workobject”, “Cost center”, “Customer”, and in an agricultural company also “Field”, “ARIB applicant”, “Crop name” and “Crop year”.
  • “Incl. not approved”: without this option only approved works are counted.
  • Period: the quick choices “Last 7 days”, “From yesterday”, “Yesterday”, “Today”, “Tomorrow”, “Next 7 days”, “Previous month”, “Current month” and “Next month”, or a start and end date. The period can be up to 366 days long.
  • Output: “on screen” shows the result in a table, “MS Excel file” downloads it. The report is built with the “Show” button.
  • Table: columns such as “Date”, “Material”, “Amount total”, “Unit”, “Storage”, “Worktype name”, “Worker name”, “Workobject name”, “Main machine name”, “Implement name”, “Cost center name” and “Customer name”. An agricultural company also has field details, for example “Field name”, “Area size (ha)”, “Hectares served”, “Amount per ha” and “Amount per served ha”.
  • Above the table: the “Filter…” search field, the icons “open in Excel” and “open as PDF file”, and “set view”, where you choose and order the columns shown. The number next to the icon shows how many columns are hidden.
  • “Table statistics” below the table: the total (SUM), average (AVG), median (MED), minimum (MIN), maximum (MAX) and number of rows (CNT) of the number columns by material and unit.

How to build the report

  1. Tick the options you want under “Dimensions”. Select “Record” to see the amounts by work. For a summary, remove “Record” and select, for example, “Material consumption” together with “Cost center” or “Workobject”.
  2. Tick “Incl. not approved” if you also want to see works not yet approved.
  3. Choose the period with a quick choice or enter the dates.
  4. Choose “on screen” or “MS Excel file” as the output and press “Show”.
  5. Narrow down the result with the filter icon in the column header or with the “Filter…” search field. Click a column’s title to sort by it.

The selected dimensions are remembered and are already selected next time.

How to view the works behind a row

  1. Press the list icon of the row in the “Actions” column.
  2. A list of the works that make up the row opens. From there you can open a work and change or delete it.
  3. If you changed or deleted works, press “Show” in the report again to see the changes.

Who can see it

In the “Reports” menu the report is visible to the roles “Administrator”, “Observer”, “Agronomist”, “Dispatcher” and “Accountant”. Field, ARIB applicant, crop and crop year details are visible only in an agricultural company’s account.

Tips

  • If you leave “Material consumption” unselected and remove “Record”, the amounts of different materials are added together in one row. Select “Material consumption” to keep the amounts separate by material and storage.
  • The report does not include work units. They are in the Workunits report. Produced amounts are in the Production report.
  • A material row marked “Do not show on material reports” on the work does not appear in the report.
  • If the report is too large, the page shows the row limit. Then shorten the period or choose fewer dimensions.
