The “Material usage” page (heading “Service works planned material usage”) shows which materials and spare parts have been added to the maintenance and repairs of machines, how much and at what price. The report is used by the people responsible for machine maintenance to follow the use of spare parts and the cost of maintenance.
Page layout
- “Dimensions”: “Record” gives a separate row for each material added to a maintenance. When “Record” is not selected, amounts are added up by the selected dimensions: “By date” (the date of the planned start), “Worker” (the maintenance’s responsible person), “Material” (selected by default) and “Facility/Machine”.
- Filters: “Worker” (the maintenance’s responsible person), “Spare part” and “Facility/Machine”. When you choose a value in a filter, the report shows only the maintenance of that worker, spare part or machine.
- Period: the quick choices “Last 7 days”, “From yesterday”, “Yesterday”, “Today”, “Tomorrow”, “Next 7 days”, “Previous month”, “Current month” and “Next month”, or a start and end date. Maintenance and repairs whose “Planned start” is within the period are counted, whether they are done or not.
- Output: “on screen” shows the result in a table, “MS Excel file” downloads it. The report is built with the “Show” button.
- Table: “Planned start”, “Material”, “Amount”, “Cost per unit” (the price of the material’s unit), “Total price” (amount times unit price), “Record count”, “Facility/Machine”, “Responsible person”, “Service work description” and “Service interval”. The service work description and service interval are filled in only with the “Record” dimension.
- Above the table: the search field “Filter…”, the icons “open in Excel” and “open as PDF file”, and “set view”, where you choose and order the columns shown.
- “Table statistics” below the table: the sum (SUM), average (AVG), median (MED), minimum (MIN), maximum (MAX) and number of rows (CNT) of “Amount”, “Total price” and “Record count”.
How to build the report
- Tick the choices you want under “Dimensions”. To see each material added, choose “Record”. For example, to get the use of spare parts by machine, remove “Record” and choose “Material” and “Facility/Machine”.
- If needed, choose “Worker”, “Spare part” or “Facility/Machine” in the filters.
- Select the period, for example “Current month”, or enter the dates.
- Select “on screen” or “MS Excel file” as the output and press “Show”.
- Narrow down the result with the filter icon in the column header or the search field “Filter…”. Click a column heading to sort by that column.
The dimensions you chose are remembered and selected again the next time.
Who can see it
In the “Maintenance” menu the page is shown to the roles “Vehicle service” and “Administrator”.
Tips
- The report includes only the maintenance and repairs of machines and equipment. Because work not yet done is counted too, the report shows the planned need for materials for a future period.
- If “Cost per unit” and “Total price” are 0, no unit price has been entered for the material. You can add the price in the material’s window on the page Materials.
- Materials are added to maintenance and repairs with the button “Add material” on the pages Service works and Repair works.
